For the third 12 months in a row, the Henley Passport Index ranked the Canadian passport because the eighth-best passport to have internationally, with visa-free or visa-on-arrival entry to 185 journey locations out of 227.

This index from migration consultancy agency Henley & Partners depends on information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The ranking, released on January 10, took under consideration a complete of 199 passports. But what makes your passport higher than others?

Well, the agency examined the variety of locations to which every passport allows visa-free journey to find out which citizenships are extra handy for worldwide journeys.

Japan’s passport stays on the prime of the list, enabling entry to 193 locations, whereas Singapore and South Korea tied in second place with visa-free entry to 192 locations.
